The Topaz Lodge

At the Topaz Lodge you can expect to be treated like family. We have been owned by the same family for most of the past 30 years, with the second generation having purchased the business in January of 2005. Our rooms are standard Motel style with in-room coffee and most have a table and/or office area. Also, Wireless High Speed Intenet is now available. We are committed to providing our customers the best value in lodging in town. We provide clean rooms at an economy price.

The Topaz Lodge History

The Topaz Lodge has been a landmark of Buena Vista for over 125 years. The 2-story portion of the building was built in 1879 and rumored to be a brothel for many years. It now houses a private residence. It is not known exactly when the first motel rooms were built on to the original building, but is thought to be about 1910. This portion includes what are now rooms 1 through 14. The last addition of rooms, including 15 through 19 was built in about 1950.
